Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell new Mexico, but fell in love Colorado. He eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's songs for his home state has drawn a lot of people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado as John Denver." Denver is the Hall of Fame's inaugural inductee was recognized by the honor in 2011. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people across the globe. Through my many travels, I've met a lot of individuals who do not hail from Colorado. They'll say, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you come from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief period in small folk ensembles. Danoff had written the song with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version of the song and realized it was going to be an instant hit in the top 10. The song was recorded by the singer within a couple of days when he performed it in front of the awe-inspiring crowd in Washington D.C.
